The national average ACT from the graduating class of 2022 dropped to 19.8 - ITS LOWEST POINT IN 30 YEARS. The national average has not been below 20 since 1991.
Almost half (42%) of ACT - tested graduates in the class of 2022 met NONE OF THE SUBJECT BENCHMARKS in English, reading, science and math.
Louisiana’s average ACT score is 18.1 - TOPS Opportunity (4-years of financial support) requires at least a score of 20. This ONE NUMBER can keep students from going to college.
In Louisiana, high school students' ACT scores generally contribute to ONE-FOURTH OF SCHOOLS' SPS SCORES.
