STEAM Power Education is seeking dynamic and experienced ELA and Math instructional coaches (Grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-12) to join our team to support teachers in enhancing instructional practices, improving student outcomes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within our partnerships. We're looking for candidates passionate about coaching, mentoring, and empowering teachers and leaders who can drive effective results. The right candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to inspire our team to reach their full potential.
SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to teachers to improve their instructional practices, classroom management strategies, and student engagement techniques.

Conduct classroom observations, instructional walkthroughs, and data analysis to identify areas for teacher growth and development.

Collaborate with teachers to set professional growth goals and develop action plans to achieve them.

Provide constructive feedback, modeling, and demonstration lessons to teachers to help them refine their instructional techniques, classroom management strategies, and assessment practices.

Offer guidance and support to teachers in addressing instructional challenges, managing diverse student needs, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Lead professional learning sessions for teachers and leaders using existing content throughout the year. Steam Power Education will conduct its professional learning both in-person and virtually.

Facilitate and coach impactful professional learning for educators in a virtual and in-person context.

Develop relationships with Steam Power Education partners

Collect data and evidence of impact using pre-developed tools and adjust facilitation as needed

Give feedback on professional learning content to STEAM Power Education.

Analyze student achievement data, formative assessment results, and other relevant data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for instructional improvement.

Assist teachers in interpreting assessment data and using it to inform instructional decision-making, differentiate instruction, and set student learning goals.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

5+ totals years of experience in education and in implementing high-quality instructional materials
-
2+ years of successful teaching experience with students from underserved backgrounds with demonstrated evidence of impact

Experience facilitating impactful professional learning for educators in a virtual and in-person context

Experience building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders in an education context

Deep understanding of the content standards (K-2, 3-5, or 6-12 ELA & Math) and the science of reading

Facilitators must be able to attend upcoming virtual training sessions.

Must be able to abide by CDC as well as local guidance for public safety and masking requirements

Daytime availability and willingness to travel in person
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (If Applicable)

Deep knowledge of at least one of the following curricula is preferred: ELA: CKLA, EL Education, Wit & Wisdom & Guidebooks. Math: Eureka & Illustrative Mathematics.

Research based literacy instruction and the Instructional Shifts in English Language Arts

Experience as an instructional coach is a plus

WORKING AT STEAM POWER EDUCATION AS A CONTRACTOR FACILITATOR/COACH
There is no guarantee of hours. Facilitators are scheduled on a “by project” basis and are generally notified 2-6 weeks before the learning begins to provide adequate preparation time. The number of work and specific hours depend on our projects and when you are available. Paid training and onboarding, including asynchronous onboarding study, $50/hr. for all calls and meetings with STEAM Power Education staff (including any prep call, debrief call, or training). Each project can last several weeks. Lead facilitators are paid $65/sync hour for synchronous virtual facilitation, and Tech/support facilitators are paid $50/sync hour. In-person facilitation can be half a day to several consecutive days. For in-person facilitation, the rate is $650/day (inclusive of individual prep time and follow up), based on experience. Contractors traveling on behalf of STEAM Power Education are responsible for covering their travel up front. They will be reimbursed if costs align with STEAM Powered Travel Reimbursement Policy. Expense reports are processed weekly.
